CPSO arrests Starks man in aggravated rape of girl, 8

The following is a Press Release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

In October 2010 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office received a complaint alleging sometime between January and December 2002, John D. Savoy, now 25, Starks, had inappropriate sexual contact with a juvenile female who was at the time 8-years-old.

The victim was delayed in reporting the abuse but finally reported to her counselor that Savoy had sexual intercourse with her on at least one occasion. After locating Savoy he confirmed to detectives some of these allegations.

Savoy was indicted by a Calcasieu Parish Grand Jury for one count of aggravated rape on September 15th.  He was picked up by the CPSO Warrants Division in Orange, TX yesterday and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

Savoy's bond has been set at $500,000 by Judge Michael Canaday.
