Fugitive sought on rape charge nabbed in Alexandria

The following is a Press Release from the Sulphur Police Department:

According to Chief of Police Lewis Coats, Damon Troy Skipper, Black Male, Age 44 of Sulphur wanted for Aggravated Rape was arrested  yesterday afternoon.

Skipper has been on the run from authority's sense October 26, 2011 when District Judge David A. Richie signed a warrant for his arrest for aggravated rape in violation of LSA R.S. 14:42.

He was located in Alexandria, Louisiana and was taken into custody by the United States Marshal's Office and subsequently booked into the Rapides Parish Jail.  He will be held at that facility until Sulphur Police Department and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office can coordinate his transport back to Calcasieu Parish.

His bond has been set in the amount of $750,000.00.

On Tuesday, November 8, 2011, his wife, Janice Renee Skipper turned herself in to the Detectives of the Sulphur Police Department shortly after seeing KPLC News. Skipper was booked into the Sulphur City Jail on a $250,000.00 bond per Judge Kent Savoie for aggravated rape for her role in the aggravated rape charge against her husband, Damon Troy Skipper.
