Cyclist, DWI offender gets 4th write-up in Iowa

The following is a Press Release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

On November 27th around 6:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office was patrolling the area of Hwy 3059 and Man Heyd Road in Iowa and conducted a stop on a motorcycle driven by James A. Langley, 42, of Iowa, for a traffic violation.

When the deputy approached the motorcycle and spoke with Langley, he detected a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and his speech was slurred.

After performing poorly on the standard field sobriety test, Langley, who was convicted of DWI 3rd in 2004, was arrested and booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with DWI 4th and careless operation.

Judge Ron Ware set his bond at $30,500.

CPSO Deputy Jeremy Dansby was the arresting deputy.
