Child Advocate Celebration honors with 2011 Light Of Hope Awards

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

Child advocates in Southwest Louisiana came together to celebrate those who serve as advocates for children in the community.  Among those honored, Calcasieu Parish District Attorney's Office, The Junior League of Lake Charles and Barbara Bankens.

Family and Youth Counseling Agency President, Julio Galan says, "Barbara Bankens has been the catalyst in creating the Child Advocacy Center". She is deserving of the 2011 Light of Hope Awards.

The event was held at L'Auberge Du Lac Casino and Resort.
