Armed robberies have authorities busy this weekend

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

Authorities are investigating three armed robberies within the last two days. The latest occurred Sunday night around 9 o'clock at the Shop Rite convenience store/gas station at Lake and McNeese Street.

The Calcasieu Sheriff's Office said an armed suspect came in and robbed the place and fled with an unknown amount of cash. Deputies are investigating and following leads.

Meanwhile Lake Charles Police also had their hands full this weekend. Officers were called to Richmond Suites hotel off Moeling Street around 10:30 Saturday night. Police said a black male wearing dark-colored overalls and a bandana over his face entered the lobby armed with a weapon demanding money. The suspect made away with an unknown amount of cash. No one was injured.

Police were also on Nelson Road Saturday at the Pink & Blue Store, where employees were held up around 5:30 p.m. The suspect in the case a white male, 18-25 years old with blonde hair and blue eyes. Witnesses say he entered the store wearing army fatigue pants and a black sweater. Also armed with a weapon he demanded money and made away with an unknown amount of cash.
