CARLYSS, LA (KPLC) - A disabled Carlyss man hurled himself through a window to escape a fire Sunday at his mobile home.
The fire broke out in a trailer park off Ravia Road. The unidentified, wheelchair-bound occupant was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries after he jumped out of the window. There was no word on his condition.
Firefighters say the fire was contained to the back of the home; the remainder of the house sustained smoke damage. The exact cause is still under investigation.
Carlyss Fire Department responded and was assisted by Sulphur firefighters.
