Iowa Police following up leads in Burger King shooting

IOWA, LA (KPLC) -

Iowa Police are following up leads to a shooting at the Burger King. Police responded to the call around 10:30 Saturday night in reference to a shooting in the Burger King Parking lot.

According to Iowa Police Chief Keith Vincent a confrontation led to one suspect being shot. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

When we arrived Iowa Police officers were still combing the scene for evidence while investigators were questioning witnesses at the police station. At this time no arrests have been made, but Chief Vincent said they are following up several promising leads in the investigation.

    Multiple crashes throughout Southwest Louisiana are causing heavy traffic backup all along I-10. Sgt. James Anderson with Louisiana State Police said they are currently investigating two crashes on I-10 in Jeff Davis Parish.
