No injuries in house fire; probe on

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - LAKE CHARLES, LA. (KPLC) — UPDATE: KPLC was able to talk with the owner of the house Murray Orsot who believes the house is a total loss, as well as the vehicle in the garage.

"These things can be replaced, but life can't. So I am thankful that everyone is safe," Orsot said.

He woke to the fire at around 4:00 a.m. and was able to get him, his daughter, and dog out safely.

The fire spread to D'Town Custom, a local business, where it received some damage on the inside of the building.

The city's fire department is investigating a blaze that struck a Lake Charles home and a nearby business early today.

There are no reports of any injuries in the Deaton Street fire.

The home was fully engulfed when crews arrived around 4 a.m.

Officials believe the fire started in the home, then spread to a business next door.
