Dangerfield denies guilt in woman's Sept. slaying

CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) - Timothy Dangerfield has pleaded not guilty to second degree murder charges in the Sept. 29 slaying of Shacrista Nicole Jones.

In a court hearing today, Dangerfield also pleaded not guilty to five counts of attempted murder and additional charges of aggravated battery and simple battery.

He is set for trial April 23 at 9 a.m.

Dangerfield is the one shot by Lake Charles police when he allegedly refused to drop his gun. Police say he also stabbed himself.

Dangerfield is in jail but appeared in court via closed circuit TV, and he was on crutches.
