The following is a news release from the Lake Charles Police Department:
On Sunday 11-20-2011, at about 3:24 a.m., the Lake Charles Police Department received a call of a traffic crash involving two vehicles near the intersection of East Jevon and Sale Rd. The investigation revealed that an East bound vehicle, driven by 28 year old Joshua Ross, crossed the center line, striking an oncoming, West bound, vehicle.
Ross expired from injuries sustained in the crash and the other driver, 55 year old Randal Guillory, was treated for moderate injuries at a local hospital. The crash is being investigated by Sgt. Billy Creel and toxicology reports are pending.

Sulphur residents were notified that they would see an increase in their city utility rates. The flat monthly rate of $60.15 will be increased to $64.90 in Sulphur residents' bills on July 1. There was much excitement around KPLC today as Vice President/General Manager John Ware duked it out in a tap dancing battle with Antoine Aaron, KPLC photographer. John is participating in the 2018 Mad Hot Ballroom dance competition alongside partner Gambrelle DiGiglia on August 4.
