Seasonal lights return for the holidays

The following is a press release from the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury:

November 18, 2011 – The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury's annual Christmas Light Display returns to Prien Lake Park beginning November 25th, at dusk.  Toy Soldiers, Santa's elves and reindeer will illuminate the park for patrons to enjoy this holiday season.

Young and old can walk or drive through the winter wonderland. Admission is free and the public can enjoy the lights of the season through January 1st.

30,000+ lights make up the sweeping panorama that stretches across most of the park's outdoor area. At the center of the arrangement is the most prominent feature, the regal Christmas tree, which stands at 30 feet in height. It takes Park crews with the Police Jury approximately six weeks to construct the expansive array of lights.
