St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office arrests

 The following is a press release from the St. Mary Drug Task Force: 

The St. Mary Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force, consisting of St. Mary Sheriff Dept., Morgan City Police Dept., Franklin Police Dept., Baldwin Police Dept.., Berwick Police Dept., and Chitimacha Police Dept.. report the following arrests:

Ervin King 47 yoa and Michell McBride 43 yoa both of 1068 Tower Tank Road, Morgan City were arrested on 11-17-2011 at 4:11 pm for Possession of Crack Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with King also being charged with Improper Lane Usage.  Agents of the Narcotics Task Force were patrolling the Morgan City area, when suspect vehicle was observed making an improper lane change.  Agents conducted a traffic stop and during investigation located crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.  After investigation both suspects were placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time.

According to Sheriff Mark A. Hebert during the last 24 hours the Sheriff's Office responded to 34 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Faye Adams 37 yoa of 240 Genevieve St., Franklin was arrested on 11-17-2011 at 9:52 am on a warrant for Issuing Worthless Checks.  Suspect was located at her residence, placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 3-7-2012.

Amanda Crouch 31 yoa of 607 Bigler St., Franklin, La. was arrested on 11-17-2011 at 10:55 am on a warrant for Failure to Appear on the charge of Issuing Worthless Checks.  Suspect turned herself into the Sheriff's Office after learning of a warrant for her arrest.  Suspect was booked into the parish jail with a $2500.00 bond and was later released.

Marsha D. Giroir 26 yoa of 165 Burchfield Lane, Berwick was arrested on 11-17-2011 at 11:44 am on a warrant for Issuing Worthless Checks.  Suspect was located at Berwick Police Department, placed under arrest on warrant and issued a summons to appear in court on 3-7-2012.

Patricia Erter 31 yoa of 19143 Hwy 182 West, Jeanerette was arrested on 11-17-2012 at 1:27 pm on a warrant for Issuing Worthless Checks.  Suspect was located at her residence, placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 3-7-2012.

    A Houma man partially laying on railroad tracks just east of the Lake Charles city limits was struck and killed Sunday. The accident happened near where the tracks intersect with La. 3256, according to Kim Myers, spokeswoman for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office. Myers said that as the train was backing up around 11 p.m. Sunday, the engineer was unable to see Long, who was hit by the back end of the train.
