LAKE CHARLES (KPLC)- McNeese State has been award a host site for WNIT consolation rounds (1 & 2) as announced by the WNIT Saturday morning. The consolation rounds are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 18 and Saturday, Nov. 19 at Burton Coliseum.
"We are so excited about the opportunity that we have been given to host this round of the Preseason WNIT. This is a great time in the history of the McNeese Women's basketball program. I encourage everyone to get their tickets and be a part of this historic event, said athletics director Tommy McClelland."
McNeese will host East Tennessee State University, UAB and Manhattan. ETSU and UAB will kick things off at 5:30 p.m (CST) Friday followed by the McNeese/Manhattan game at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday's action will begin at Noon with the Cowgirls facing the winner/loser of the ETSU/UAB game. The other consolation game will follow the Noon contest.
The Cowgirls are coming off a 67-59 loss to no. 22 UCLA in the opening round of the tournament in Los Angeles Friday afternoon.
