PetSmart Charities National Adoption weekend

This is the final national pet adoption weekend in 2011 for PetSmart.  PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend taking place November 11-13 at your local PetSmart store. The event boasts being the largest funder of animal-welfare efforts with more than 2000 animal welfare organizations across North America participating.

Pets will be on had with hopes of getting great homes. From 9am-9pm Saturday and 10am-6pm Sunday.

The event will take place at PetSmart Store, 3130 E Prien Lake Road, Lake Charles, La.

"PetSmart Charities is an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that creates and supports programs that save the lives of homeless pets, raise awareness of companion animal welfare issues and promote healthy relationships between people and pets."

    A $17 million co-op agreement between the City of Lake Charles and Calcasieu Parish could be in the works, depending on Thursday night's decision by the Calcasieu parish Police Jury's Public Works committee.  That agreement was already adopted by one of those parties.
