Calcasieu Parish authorities are investigating a burglary at a meat market and store owner's believe the suspect may have tried to sell the stolen goods.
The break-in happened around 4 a.m. Saturday at Sonnier's Sausage and Boudin shop on North Simmons street. Store owner Laurie Sonnier said Monday surveillance video shows the burglary in progress. Sonnier said the suspect got away with different cuts of meat.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's investigators said Monday no arrests had been made but the investigation was ongoing.
"A customer came by and told us that a guy was trying to sell them meat at the Exxon gas station on 171 and Moeling", says Sonnier. That gas station is less than a mile away from Sonnier's.
This is at least the second time Sonnier's has been burglarized. Suspects in the first burglary were arrested after being identified surveillance video.
