Millennium Park loaned tools ready for pickup

The following is a press release from the City of Lake Charles:

Tools loaned by individuals for the Millennium Park community build will be available for pickup Tuesday and Wednesday, November 8 and 9, between the hours of 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the tool shed located at the south end of the build site. 

The gate entrance for tools pickup will be the same as the loaned tools drop off location – at the west entrance to the temporarily closed section of Bord du Lac Dr. next to the Arcade Amphitheater.

After Wednesday, tools loaned can be picked up at the Lake Charles Civic Center, 900 Lakeshore Dr., at the first floor main office.

    A Houma man partially laying on railroad tracks just east of the Lake Charles city limits was struck and killed Sunday. The accident happened near where the tracks intersect with La. 3256, according to Kim Myers, spokeswoman for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office. Myers said that as the train was backing up around 11 p.m. Sunday, the engineer was unable to see Long, who was hit by the back end of the train.
