LC man arrested for failing to register as a sex offender

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office Compliance and Awareness Unity (CAP Unit) arrested 49-year-old sex offender Christopher D. Mayo, of Lake Charles, on October 25th.

Mayo was charged with failure to register as a sex offender, and after an investigation revealed that he had moved without notifying proper authorities within the three days that is required by law for all sex offenders.

Mayo was booked in the Calcasieu Correctional Center with a bond, set by Judge David Ritchie, at $100,000.

Mayo was convicted of sexual assault in Orange County, Texas, in June of 1998.
