Hit & Run: Crossroads to reopen soon

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A hit and run has forced Crossroads bookstore to close up shop for a few days. You may have noticed the store's front windows are now boarded up - that's because early Sunday morning a black Ford Mustang lost control and crashed into the store.

According to Lake Charles Police the driver left the scene of the accident. The store manager got the call around 4 a.m. from the security company.

"The security people told me the alarms are going off. They can hear broken glass and voices. When I got here we found a Mustang parked inside our store. There was a lot of debris. We started cleaning up today after our adjuster came out and took a look at the damage. We are cleaning up and we will reopen possibly some time tomorrow or the day after," said Jonathan Primeaux, Crossroads Store Manager.

A short time after the crash Lake Charles Police arrested the driver of the Mustang - 26-year-old Brittany Courmier. She's been charged with DWI first offense, careless operation and hit and run.
