Calcasieu Tax Assessor Race becomes a runoff

CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

Wendy Aguillard and Senator Willie Mount will both be in a runoff for the office of Calcasieu Tax Assessor. Both women projected strong numbers early on this evening.

The unofficial results, per Louisiana Secretary of State website are:

Wendy Curphy Aguillard (N)                                                             48.85% / 17208

Willie Landry Mount (D)                                                                    38.26% / 13477

"Mike" Regan (R)                                                                              12.88% / 4538

Voters can expect the runoff for Calcasieu Parish Tax Assessor to take place on November 19, 2011.

No word yet if either candidate will be seeking support from last place runner Mike Regan.
