CPSO to Host Haunted House and Trunk-a-Treat

The following is a News Release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office will be hosting the annual "Haunted House" and "Trunk-A-Treat" on Monday, October 31st.

CPSO Youth/D.A.R.E. Divisions will host the Trunk-A-Treat from 5:00- 8:00 p.m. outside  next to the Administration Building at 5400 E. Broad Street. 

CPSO Correctional Center will host the "Haunted House" in the administrative area of the CCC which is directly behind the CPSO Administration Building, from 6:00 - 9:30 p.m.

Children 7 years and under are discouraged from attending the "Haunted House" due to the daunting nature of the event.

These events are open to the public free of charge.

    The annual rabies clinic hosted by the Calcasieu Parish Policy Jury and Calcasieu Parish Animal Services was held at Burton Coliseum Saturday morning. The event was originally scheduled for Apr. 14 but was canceled due to rain. Hundreds of pet owners lined up in the parking lot to get their cats and dogs vaccinated at the low-cost event.     A Jennings man has been arrested after barricading himself and a hostage in a residence, according to Chief Deputy Christopher Ivey with Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's Office. At approximately 5:50 a.m. on Sunday, JDPSO responded to a hostage and barricaded subject with a firearm on South Cutting Avenue in Jennings.     A man has been arrested after a high-speed chase with multiple local law enforcement agencies on Saturday, according to Sgt. James Anderson with Louisiana State Police. A state trooper attempted to pull over a vehicle on I-10 for speeding when they did not stop, says Anderson. The vehicle exceeded speeds of 100 mph and led Louisiana State Police, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, Vinton Police Department, and Sulphur Police Department on a 33-minute chase through Vinton and Sulphur....
