Arrests made in Sulphur

The following is a Press Release from the Sulphur Police Department:

Sulphur Police Department reported from October 6-10, 2011 that officers of the department investigated three traffic accidents reporting no injuries and issued twenty-seven traffic citations.

Officers also responded to several other incidents resulting in twelve arrests including two arrests for driving while under the influence. 

Dennis P. Carlin, White Male, Age 43 of Dale Street, Sulphur was arrested and booked into the Sulphur City Jail for an outstanding bench warrant and contempt of court.

Bruce Evans Aguillard, White Male, Age 51 of Vine Street, Sulphur was arrested and booked into the Sulphur City Jail for obstruction of public passage and driving while under the influence.

Kendall James Kegley, White Male, Age 19 of St. Anthony Lane, Sulphur was arrested and booked into the Sulphur City Jail for theft of goods.

Travis Wade Gilley, White Male, Age 23 of St. Luke Lane, Sulphur was arrested and booked into the Sulphur City Jail being held for another agency.

Timothy Andrew Rogers, Black Male, Age 44 of Cherry Street, Sulphur was arrested and booked into the Sulphur City Jail for disturbing the peace by public intoxication.

Trent Wade Myers, White Male, Age 20 of Fiegel Street, Sulphur was arrested and booked into the Sulphur City Jail for illegal possession of stolen things and illegal possession of a firearm.

Connor Dillon Bennett, White Male, Age 17 of Freestone Peach Lane, Fairfield, Texas was arrested and booked into the Sulphur City Jail for illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of stolen things, possession with the intent to distribute  CDS schedule II drugs, possession with the intent to distribute CDS schedule IV drugs and simple possession of marijuana.

Coby Dee Powell, White Male, Age 28 of Wright Road, Sulphur was arrested and booked into the Sulphur City Jail for domestic abuse battery and resisting arrests.

Kevin Foster Legros, White Male, Age 40 of West Lewis Street, Sulphur was arrested and booked into the Sulphur City Jail for improper lane use, open container and driving while under the influence.

April Richelle Lesher, White Female, Age 24 of Bayou Tortue Road, Broussard, Louisiana was arrested and booked into the Sulphur City Jail for simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kevin Trent Portie, White Male, Age 29 of Comanche Street, Sulphur was arrested and booked into the Sulphur City Jail for possession with the intent to distribute CDS schedule iv drugs, simple possession of marijuana, use of body armor and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Joseph Clay Duhon, White Male, Age 35 of Ginger Street, Sulphur was arrested and booked into the Sulphur City Jail for an outstanding bench warrant.

    We saw some showers and thunderstorms around the area early Monday but the bulk of the rain had come to an end shortly after lunch with clouds lingering throughout the day.  The clouds held temperatures down a few degrees, but still most areas reached the upper 80s.  It will be warm and muggy overnight with lows in the mid to upper 70s Tuesday morning.

    Four dogs have been rescued after authorities found them to be, what they call, extremely emaciated. The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office first learned about the condition of the dogs when deputies were responding to a call for assistance in Vinton. The Calcasieu Parish Animal Services called CPSO when the residents of a home were being uncooperative.  Animal Services officers found 3 dogs locked in a kennel behind the home. The home was occupied by 36 year old Anita Mo...
