Suspect arrested in shooting

The following is a Press Release from the Cameron Parish Sheriff's Office:

On October 11, 2011 at 0443 hrs. dispatch received a 911 call from Justin Reyes saying he had been shot and is in his own truck. Victim was at Vigo's Masonary on Gulf Highway. Victim is Justin Ryan Reyes, 20, out of Friendswood, Tx. Suspect is identified as Kale Channing Crain, 21, of Mallard Lane Grand Lake, LA. Suspect was identified by victim.

Suspect kale Crain allegedly fired multiple shots at victim Justin Reyes while victim was trying to leave residence in his own truck. The shooting took place in reference to a missing handgun and some money reportedly.

Time of arrival was 0452 hrs. at Vigo Masonry. This was the victim's location. Suspect was in custody at 0533 hrs. at Mallard Lane. Crime Scene investigation was done at the scene and on the victims truck. The victim was taken to the hospital in Lake Charles treated and released for minor injuries.

Responding officers were lead investigator Jake Mc Cain, Chris Savoie, Terry Faulk, David Hebert, Randy Hunt, and Deputies Joe Gaspard, Tammy Gaspard, Benji Primeaux, Charles Smith, and Chief Ron Johnson.
