Early voting underway for October 22nd election

SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) -

Early voting is now underway for the October 22nd election. According to the Calcasieu Registrar of Voters turnout has been steady. Voters will decide several big races including Governor, Lt. Governor, Calcasieu Tax Assessor, and Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff.

We were on hand in Sulphur as people took the opportunity to vote early.

"My husband prompted me to vote early today because we are very busy people and because of that and because I am an American and I feel like we should vote," said Dale Schanz.

"I like the ease of early voting. The times are more convenient," said Jan McFarlan.

Early voting runs through Saturday, October 8 - October 15. No voting on Sunday. Voters can early vote at the Calcasieu Parish Courthouse, in Sulphur next the City Council Chambers and at the Moss Bluff Library. Voters need to bring a photo I.D.
