The following is a Press Release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

On September 27, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office received a complaint from the Department of Children and Family Services regarding the welfare of a 3-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl.

The investigation revealed the children's foster mother, Connie E. LeBleu, 46, 2310 N. Jeff Davis Ward Lane Road, and Jericka E. LeBleu, 18, 2316 N. Jeff Davis Ward Line Road, a family member of Connie LeBleu, both of Iowa,  had locked the 3 year old boy in his room for long periods of time on numerous occasions.  It was also learned the 6 year old girl had been made to sleep in a closet with no electricity or air circulation, and given a bucket to urinate in.

During an interview with detectives, both Connie and Jericka LeBleu confirmed the allegations.  They were arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2 counts of cruelty to a juvenile.

Judge Michael Canaday set both of their bonds at $20,000 each.

The two victims were removed from the home by the Department of Children & Family Services.

CPSO Detective Lisa Hardy is the lead investigator on this case.
