Community sign donated to Oak Park Elementary

The following is a press release:

John Stelly, owner of Nissan of Lake Charles and Mazda of Lake Charles, has once again demonstrated his generosity to his adopted hometown.

He came from New Orleans in 2002 to start his companies here in Lake Charles. Since then he has continuously shown his local commitment by giving back. In fact, last year he was named philanthropist of the year by the Family Youth Organization.

His latest gift is an Electronic Marquee sign given to Oak Park Elementary in Lake Charles. The sign will be placed in front of the school. It measures 4' by 8' and is valued at $9900.00. Mrs. Jacquetta Fontenot, Secretary of the school, said "The sign will be an invaluable resource in communicating with our students' parents.  Mr Stelly has shown us the true meaning of a Partner in Education."

In the past, Mr. Stelly has been a financial supporter of both the school's Honor Roll and the Banner Roll.  He even sent a group of 35 students and chaperones to Washington DC for the Presidential inauguration.
The ceremony honoring the Sign installation will take place Thursday, 9/29, 1:00 PM, at Oak Park Elementary.  The principal of the school,

Mrs. Melinda Hardy will officiate.  For more information please call Mrs. Jacquetta Fontenot at 217-4850 ext. 6554.
