Calcasieu Parish early voting for Oct. 22nd election

The following is a press release from the Calcasieu Parish Registrar of Voters:

Early voting for the October 22nd Gubernatorial Primary Election will be conducted at the following locations and dates for those who would like to vote early or who will be out of the Parish on election day.

Registrar of voters office - Parish Courthouse, 1000 Ryan Street - Room 7, Lake Charles
Saturday, Oct. 8th through Saturday, Oct. 15th
(excluding Sunday, Oct 9th)
Voting hours are 8:30 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.

West Calcasieu Business Center - Sulphur
500 A.N. Huntingon St., Sulphur
Saturday, Oct. 8th through Saturday, Oct 15th
(Excluding Sunday, Oct 9th)
For all Calcasieu voters
Voting hours are 8:30 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.

Moss Bluff Library
261 Parish Road, Moss Bluff
Saturday Oct 8th - Saturday Oct 15th (excluding Sun.)
Voting hours are 8:30 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.

Items on the bailouts are Governor, Lt. Gov., Secretary of State, Commissioner of Agriculture, Commissioner of Insurance, BESE District 7, State senate 30, State Rep. 32, 34, Assessor, Police Juror 2,4,5,7,9,10,12,13 & 14, 5 Constitutional Amendments as well as a number of Propositions for Special Taxing Districts.

    Tonging is way to fish for oysters using two large sticks.  fishermen say it's much harder than dredging, which they do now, and much less efficient. "It's like using a post hole digger, where you've actually got to dig the oysters up by hand and pick them up and put them on your boat by hand," said Leo Dyson of Cameron.

    A vehicle attempting to turn left from Sallier onto Ryan Street had its driver's side mirror clipped by a train Monday morning, authorities said. The driver's side door of the vehicle was then torn off as the driver attempted to notify the train conductor about the mirror. Avoid the area of Ryan and Sallier Streets for the next hour due to a traffic accident that is causing road blockage.
