Drug Task Force arrests

The following is a Press Release from The St. Mary Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force:

The St. Mary Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force, consisting of St. Mary Sheriff Dept., Morgan City Police Dept., Franklin Police Dept., Baldwin Police Dept., Berwick Police Dept., and Chitimacha Police Dept. report the following arrests:

Ezekiel Anderson IV ,20, of 1036 Irish Bend Road, Franklin was arrested on 9-26-2011 at 1:06 pm on warrants for Distribution of Marijuana and Failure to Appear on the charge of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.  Agent's located suspect at his residence, placed him under arrest and booked him into the parish jail with no bond at this time.

Robert McDaniel ,29, of 600 MLK Blvd., Franklin was arrested on 9-26-2011 at 1:46 pm on a warrant for two counts of Distribution of Cocaine.  Agents were patrolling the Franklin area, when suspect was located at the Robertson apartment complex.  Suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $50,000.00 bond at this time.

Robert Bergeron ,56, of 139 Green Meadowns Road, Arnaudville, La. was arrested on 9-26-2011 at 5:58 pm for Possession of Darvocet.  Agents were called to Star Dock in Berwick in reference to United States Coast Guard locating suspect with several pills in his possession.  After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time.

    This morning the Lake Charles housing authority opened its waiting list for the first time since 2014. The waiting list application process closed around noon today hundreds of residents lined up around this building some even lining up as early as 9:45 last night “We had given out 700 applications by 8:30 we ended up over 1,000,” said Ben Taylor, the director of the Lake Charles Housing Authority.     The last suspect in the "Havana Speed" drug operation has been sentenced to more than five years in prison. The methamphetamine distribution ring stretched from Mexico, Texas, and into southwest Louisiana. The suspect, Raul Perez-Mendoza, 26, of Dallas, was sentenced Friday, July 21, to more than five years in prison for conspiracy to posses with intent to distribute meth.  He is also sentenced to five years of supervised release.  Perez-Mendoza and seven other...
