Suspect Arrested in Weekend Shooting

The following is a Press Release from the Lafayette Police Department:

On September 25, 2011, at approximately 3:00 am, Lafayette Police responded to the 1100 block of West Willow Street regarding a reported shooting.  According to the victim, while traveling in a vehicle west on Willow Street a known suspect drove in the left lane along side of his vehicle and fired multiple shots in his direction.  The victim was struck once in the abdomen.  The victim was transported to an area hospital and remains in stable condition.

Detectives with the Lafayette responded to the scene and based on information issued an arrest warrant for Attempted 1st Degree Murder for the arrest of Trevor Lee Johnson (21) of Lafayette.

At approximately 10:30 pm that evening, members of patrol and the Crime Suppression Unit located Johnson in the 100 block of Chester Street.  Johnson was taken into custody without incident.  The case remains under investigation.
