Movies under the stars returns for fall series

The following is a press release from the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury:

September 23, 2011 – It's that time again!  Cooler evenings have returned to Prien Lake Park which can only mean one thing: Movies Under the Stars has returned! Beginning Friday, October 7th,  and continuing the Series October 14th, 21st, and 27th, friends and families of all ages will be treated to another great line-up of current and timeless feature films.

From record-breakers to music-makers, The Police Jury is pleased to present:

• October 7th – "Tangled" – Disney's 50th animated feature film doesn't disappoint with a story of action, romance, and a lot of hair!
• October 14th – "Secretariat" – During the Spring Series for Movies Under the Stars, the odds were against us showing this inspiring true story about the greatest race horse of all time.  This fall, we've brought the movie back and think our luck has changed.
• October 21st – "The Music Man" - River City will never be the same when a con man strolls into town convincing its people that they need a community band. This time-honored, Oscar winning musical will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary next year!

• October 28th – "The Muppet Movie" With a brand new Muppet film coming to theatres this November, we're bringing back the original. Kermit, Fozzie, Miss Piggy, and, our favorite Animal will all be at Prien Lake Park to end the Fall Series in their own, unique way!

There will be new, exciting pre-show activities at each event beginning at 6:00pm with each film starting at dusk. Prien Lake Park is located at 3700 West Prien Lake Road in Lake Charles and admission is free to the public. Residents are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets and food. Snacks can also be purchased on-site.
