Mojito Pointe: Road in exchange for water & sewerage

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

The City of Lake Charles is welcoming a major contribution from Creative Casinos. To alleviate traffic near their Mojito Pointe development, Creative Casinos has agreed to pay for a 17-million dollar road in exchange for the city not charging them any impact fees.

The city would also have to agree to pay for all infrastructure to service the development with water and sewerage. Mayor Randy Roach said that's expected to cost in the neighborhood of $10,000,000. Mayor Roach said the city has outlined a little over $7,000,000 from several sources but is seeking help from the parish to make up the rest of the cost.
