Lake Charles, LA—On Thursday, August 11, Dairy Queen® will host the sixth annual "Miracle Treat Day," with $1 or more from every Blizzard® sold being donated to the Children's Miracle Network, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds to help improve pediatric medical care services and health education opportunities throughout Southwest Louisiana. CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital is the Children's Miracle Network hospital for the region.
The Dairy Queen system has been a proud sponsor of Children's Miracle Network since 1984. From collecting customers' change to selling Miracle Balloons and holding special events, DQ is giving back to the communities in which it does business. On "Miracle Treat Day," all participating Dairy Queen®, DQ® Treat Center and DQ® Grill & Chill® locations in the United States and Canada donate proceeds from every Blizzard® Treat sold to Children's Miracle Network.
The first-ever Miracle Treat Day was on August 10, 2006, and has been held annually ever since. It is a tradition on the day of the event for the President and CEO of Dairy Queen, John Gainor, to personally deliver hundreds of Blizzard Treats to children and their families at local hospitals. Miracle Treat Day is the largest fundraising event that DQ holds for CMN, and has raised over $77 Million. Local participating Dairy Queen locations include:
