Center for Orthopaedics Receives Technology Award

The SWLA Alliance's Technology Committee awarded some the best and brightest regional examples of tech-savvy individuals, businesses or institutions who have contributed in a significant way to the Southwest Louisiana technology community at a recent meeting of the Chamber SWLA's IMPACT membership meeting.  The annual award ceremony took place at the Lake Charles Civic Center.  Center for Orthopaedics  was one of three recipients and received the award in the "Innovators" category.  The awards were presented by Technology Committee Chair Allen Abshire of CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital.  Here are excerpts from his presentation:   "The Center for Orthopaedics almost makes getting a broken bone fixed a pleasure!  Their new, state-of-the-art facility was custom designed to enhance patient care by digitally integrating every aspect of their experience from scheduling their appointment, through checking in, during exams,  and while checking out.  While it may seem effortless to their patients, 55 programs are used in different areas of the clinic and they are all interfaced seamlessly.  Integrating these software programs from an orthopedic context had not been attempted before, so their IT team did their own research to customize the design.  For making going to the doctor's office less stressful, we award Center for Orthopaedics this year's Innovator Award."  Dr. John Noble, orthopaedic surgeon, and Danny Guillory, IT manager, accepted the award for the group.
