NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Drew Brees passed for 313 yards and four touchdowns and the New Orleans Saints beat Carolina 31-13 Sunday night to regain sole possession of first place in the NFC South and snap the Panthers' winning streak at eight games. The Saints also became the only team this season to score more than 24 points against Carolina.
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -LSU has been selected to face Iowa in the Outback Bowl on New Year's Day. The Tigers are making their first trip to Tampa for postseason action since 1989, when the game called the Hall of Fame Bowl. Iowa will be making its fourth appearance in the Outback. The Hawkeyes last appeared following the 2008 season.
SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Two of the nation's top running backs will square off Dec. 31 when Arizona faces Boston College in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl. Boston College's Andre Williams leads all Football Bowl Subdivision players this season with 2,102 yards rushing this season.
(AP) - In a rare meeting between two of the nation's most storied programs, Alabama and Oklahoma will face off Jan. 2 in the Sugar Bowl at New Orleans. This will mark only the fifth time Alabama and Oklahoma have played each other.
