Brie – Two Ways!

Serves 6 – 8

Page 26 of Marshes to Mansions

1 (16-ounce) round Brie cheese

Option 1

¼  cup chopped red bell pepper

¼ cup chopped green onions

½ jalapeno chile, chopped

1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces

 

Option 2

½ cup toasted pecans, chopped

2 tablespoons brown sugar

¼ cup Kahlua

 

Option 1

Remove the top rind from the cheese and discard.  Sprinkle the top with the bell pepper, green onions and jalapeno chile.  Dot the top with the butter.  Place on a baking sheet.  Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes.  Serve with crackers.

 

Option 2

Remove the top rind from the cheese and discard.  Sprinkle the top of the brie with the pecans and brown sugar.  Drizzle the Kahlua over the top.  Place on a baking sheet.  Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes.  Serve with crackers.
