28 Alabama counties approved for storm aid

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Federal Emergency Management Agency has designated 11 more Alabama counties for disaster relief to households and businesses affected by killer tornadoes.

Gov. Robert Bentley said the new counties are Bibb, Blount, Cherokee, Choctaw, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jackson, Limestone, Madison and Washington. That brings the number of Alabama counties approved for assistance to 28.

Counties approved earlier were Autauga, Calhoun, Cullman, DeKalb, Elmore, Etowah, Franklin, Jefferson, Lawrence, Marengo, Marion, Marshall, Sumter, St. Clair, Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa and Walker.
