Bailey competent to stand trial

Joel Bailey is competent to stand trial.

That's the word from a psychologist from Alexandria called in to examine Bailey in the middle of his murder trial.

Concerns came up about whether Bailey, who has schizophrenia, had had some type of mental health episode yesterday after seeing crime scene video and photos of his parents after he shot them.

The psychologist says Bailey may have had an anxiety attack but that he understands what's going on and is able to assist his attorneys in his own defense.

The trial resumes at 9:30 tomorrow morning. Bailey is accused of first degree murder of his father and attempted first degree murder of his mother.
