New procedure for outdoor burn permits in Lake Charles

The following is a news release from the City of Lake Charles:

Beginning March 1, 2011 the Lake Charles Fire Department Bureau of Fire Prevention will be charging a $10 fee for all burn permits issued in all of Ward 3, incorporated and unincorporated, and a $20 administrative fee.

Applications must be submitted to and approved by the Bureau of Fire Prevention before a permit can be issued. Burn Permit Applications can be obtained at the Bureau of Fire Prevention, Lake Charles City Hall, 326 Pujo St, 8th Floor.

    Jury selection began Monday in the first degree murder trial of Johnnie Paul Hardman, Jr. Hardman is accused of the shooting death of Joshua Touchet, 23, on July 22, 2017 at the Twelve Palms RV Park in Lake Charles.
