South Lake Charles home damaged by morning fire

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A south Lake Charles home was damaged by a morning fire that took crews around 45 minutes to control.  Lake Charles firefighters were called to 3300 block of Broussard just before 9:45 A.M. for a home that was fully engulfed.  Investigators have not said what may have started the fire, but neighbors told KPLC Thursday morning they believe it started in the attic.

Firefighters were seen bringing Christmas presents out of the wood frame home while crews worked to extinguish the fire.  The residents escaped unharmed.
