LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - State District Judge Kent Savoie has thrown out a lawsuit filed by Pinnacle Entertainment against the Port of Lake Charles.
Savoie found that since Pinnacle is not building the Sugarcane Bay gaming resort, the lease with an option to buy fifty acres is not enforceable.
Pinnacle reportedly wants to keep the former Sugarcane Bay site and prevent the port from allowing Creative Casinos from building where that resort was going to be located.
Creative Casinos is the company headed by Dan Lee, the former CEO of Pinnacle.
There is no word yet whether Pinnacle will appeal the ruling.
