LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A Lake Charles man was arrested on Sunday for rape and domestic abuse battery charges.

On December 5, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic disturbance at a home on Tousaint Road.

The deputy spoke to the victim who said that 24-year-old Jonathan Candelaria beat and raped her.

Candelaria also reportedly attempted to choke her and bite her several times. Authorities say he confirmed some of the allegations.

Candelaria was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and was charged with forcible rape and domestic abuse battery.

A judge set his bond at $275,000.
