LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC-TV) – With temperatures expected in the low 30's this week across much of Southwest Louisiana, area homeless shelters are working to get as many people off the streets and into a warm environment.

Both the directors of the Potter's House and the Lord's Place say they have been inundated with calls this month from people looking for a warm place to stay.

Rev. Leona Benoit, with the Potter's House, said all of the beds at her 25-bed women's facility were full.

The director of the men's shelter, The Lord's Place, reported having only one vacant bed on Monday, but did not expect the bed to remain available for long.

Anyone in need of warm place to stay can call either the Potter's House for women at (337)477-1116 or the Lord's Place for men at (337)494-6277.

Both shelter directors say even if there are no available beds, they will be more than willing to assist anyone in locating a local facility.
