Who will get the 15th Louisiana gaming license?

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - On December 16, the three companies vying for the state's 15th gaming license will go before the Louisiana Gaming Control Board.

Dan Lee with Creative Casinos, William Trotter with Saint Gabriel Downs LLC, and Penn National Gaming will each make a presentation to the board on their proposed casino project.

"The board has got to look at all of them, all aspects. How many people would be employed? What would be the potential revenue to the state," said Robert Jones with the Louisiana Gaming Control Board.

On top of convincing the Gaming Control Board that his proposal is the best, Dan Lee will also have to convince them that the legal issues surrounding his project would not tie up the 15th license.

"If there is a protracted legal [battle] going on for a while, that's going to have a bearing on my thinking, as well as other members of the board. It will be a matter of Dan Lee and his people convincing us that they can take care of their legal [issues], and get it done in a timely fashion. If it's something that's going to drag out for a year or two, then I think the board will be inclined to look elsewhere," said Robert Jones.
