Fort Polk soldier killed in Afghanistan

FORT POLK, La. (KPLC) - A 10th Mountain Division Solider stationed at Fort Polk was killed in Logar province, Afghanistan, Tuesday.

1LT Scott F. Milley, age 23, of Sudbury, Massachusetts died from wounds sustained in a small arms weapons attack. 

He was an infantry officer with the 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division. Milley joined the Army in August 2009.  After training, he arrived at Fort Polk in August 2010. He deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in October 2010.

Milley is survived by his mother and father. 

Monday of this week, 7News received word that 24-year-old Pvt. Devon Harris of Mesquite, TX died from wounds he suffered during a rocket propelled grenade attack.

Pvt. Harris arrived at Fort Polk last December, and went to Afghanistan just last month.
