DOTD works to improve railroad crossing in Sulphur

SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is currently working with Union Pacific to make improvements to the railroad crossing near the corner of Beglis Parkway and Hwy 90 in Sulphur.

DOTD officials said a contract for a $120,000 railroad crossing replacement project is being executed to begin work at the railroad crossing.

The railroad work is expected to begin soon after the beginning of the year. Stopgap maintenance will be performed by Union Pacific crews until that time.
