Calcasieu Tax Assessor pleads not guilty

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The attorney for Calcasieu Parish Tax Assessor Richard Cole was in court on Monday where he entered a plea of not guilty on two counts of felony malfeasance in office.

Cole waived his right to appear in court. His attorney, Walt Sanchez, appeared on his behalf in court to plead not guilty to the two counts of felony malfeasance in office.

A trial date was set for May 16.
