LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - At around 6:30pm on Saturday evening Lake Charles Police were called to the Lunch Box, located at 1800 Broad Street. An elderly man had been robbed and then beaten. Several hours later police received another call. They responded to the 1000 block of 2nd Avenue. This time it was the same scenario. Another elderly man had received blunt force trauma to the head, and was unresponsive.

Police believe that the same person, or group of people is responsible for both of the attacks. The names of the victims are not being released at this time, meanwhile if anyone has any information on this case they are asked to call the Lake Charles Police Department at (337)491-1311.

"We believe that the person or persons responsible for this, acted in concert on both separate occasions. We know the content of the character of the suspects in this case. They are picking on someone who is older than them, and more vulnerable than them," said Sgt. Mark Kraus with the Lake Charles Police Department.

Both of the victims are currently listed in cortical condition.
