In 2009, Family and Youth's CAC saw over 447 children in Southwest Louisiana, who were reported to have been severely sexually molested or physically abused. The CAC is a child-friendly facility designed to coordinate services for these children. Designed and managed to reduce the effects of trauma, the CAC's staff work together with area prosecutors, law enforcement agents, social service workers, therapists, victim advocates and medical professionals to investigates child abuse allegations and reduce the number of investigative interviews typically experienced by victims.
