LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - According to an official with The Port of Lake Charles, the long running legal dispute between the Port and West Cameron Port ended on Friday after a ruling by the Louisiana State Supreme Court.
Mike Dees says the five year long legal battle ended when the Supreme Court refused to review a lower court ruling in favor of the Port of Lake Charles.
The case centered on the land owned by the Port of Lake Charles in Cameron Parish that is being leased to Sempra LNG.
The West Cameron Port claimed the Port of Lake Charles did not have the right to own land in their parish.
KPLC was unable to reach the West Cameron Port for their reaction.
