Lake Charles man arrested for damaging area business

The following is a news release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

Lake Charles, LA – On Saturday, November 13, around 4:00 a.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched regarding a trespasser at Decon LLC., of Lake Charles.  The business owner told deputies he was alerted by his security system that someone was trespassing on the property.  After reviewing surveillance video, Ralph W. Anderson, III, 30  of Lake Charles, who is a former employee, was observed turning on water pumps that flooded the building causing damage to the office area and eventually burning up the pumps.

Deputies went to Anderson's house where he confirmed he caused the damage.  He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with trespassing and criminal property damage over $50,000.

Judge Wilford Carter set his bond at $5,000.
