LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Two McNeese State players were honored for their performance in the Pokes 36-6 victory over Texas State on Saturday.
Wide receiver Bernardo Henry was named the Southland Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week, and linebacker Geremy Pilate was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week.
Henry had 123 return yards, highlighted by his 87 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Pilate had 16 tackles in the game, including 4 for a loss.
The Pokes will play for at least a share of the 14th Southland Conference title this Saturday on the road at Central Arkansas.
